The Tokyo Edit

Tokyo doesn’t reveal itself at street level. The real city lives in the marrow - in the dust of ancient hallways, the relentless hum of air conditioners in back alleys, and the slants of light that crawl across trees and buildings throughout the day. 

This is not a tourist’s Tokyo. It is a series of exposed secrets.

We will spend our days traversing the visceral and unnoticed to find the spaces where the city crawls inside of you. You aren’t just being photographed; you are being woven into the texture of a place that most people only see detached and from a distance.  The photos we create will tie you to this place forever.

You've always wanted to be photographed in a way that speaks directly to you, and you want to work closely with a photographer who is there to help you develop and execute a vision.

You're drawn to travel that goes deeper than the surface… the kind where you come back changed in some small but permanent way.

You don't need to be a model. You don't need prior experience in front of a camera. You need curiosity, a willingness to be open, and a genuine connection to the idea of Tokyo as a place worth experiencing in this way.

You might be a creative professional who has never prioritised being photographed. A traveller who wants a reason to go to Japan that's entirely your own. Someone at a point in your life where the image you carry of yourself deserves to be manifested.

You are of any body type, gender identity, or a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

This experience is not for you if:

You're looking for a quick content shoot or a set of social media photos. You want full creative control over every frame. You're not genuinely drawn to Tokyo as a place, but only to the photographs it might produce.

The Tokyo Edit works for participants who show up open. That's the only real requirement.

What This Looks Like

Before you arrive in Tokyo, you and I will have some conversations about you, your aesthetic, what you want to walk away with, and what you don't. From those conversations, together we will build three distinct chapters, or shoot concepts. Each chapter will have its own look, its own location, and its own feeling.

A professional hair and makeup artist will be on set for every chapter, calibrated to the editorial standard we're shooting at. Wardrobe for each shoot is sourced and styled specifically for you, drawing on independent Tokyo designers whose work you won't find in any department store.

You won't just be handed a mood board and left to figure it out. Every decision will be handled, including where we go, what you wear, how the light falls, how the day is structured. Your only job is to show up and be present.

The shoots themselves will move slowly and deliberately. We're not trying to produce volume. We're trying to produce a number of frames that are genuinely extraordinary… images that feel inevitable, like they were always going to exist, and that Tokyo was always going to be the place they were to be made.

  Flights, accommodation, and meals are not included, by design, to allow for your own travel preferences around the experience.

The Investment - 2026 Founding Edition

The Tokyo Edit runs once per year, between late September to early October.

The standard investment is $11,500 CAD.

We are currently selecting two participants for the 2026 Founding Edition, which will be offered at a reduced rate in exchange for detailed feedback and permission to use the resulting imagery and testimonial to shape the future of this project.

The Founding Edition rate is $8,500 CAD / $6,000 USD.

This rate will not be available again, as the 2027 edition and beyond will run at the standard investment.

The Conversation

The Tokyo Edit is deliberately selective, not as a gatekeeping exercise, but because the experience works best when the creative alignment is genuine on both sides.
